Let's face it. However much they may gloat-we all know that had durham been in the boat race, we would have thrashed them by miles. I guess that's why they never let us join their smelly little boat race.
In all honesty i didn't actually watch the boat race. I couldn't really be bothered. I found some drying paint instead. What i did do today is i guess what i should be talking about. Well formalitites aside, there was a short power cut this evening which was very exciting. It's crazy how much we take electricity for granted these days, and yet go back only 2 or 3 generations, and people would go to bed by candlelight. Its weird how fast things have changed in our lifetime. The fact that technologies such as computers, music playing devices have changed so much just in these last 18 years. Anyway, if i say anymore i shall risk sounding very old!
So 2 weeks into the holidays and it seems a long time since i have been in Durham. A long time since i have sat doing nothing in our common room for hours on end just chatting. I suppose its good to go without (as mentioned previously) cos then you really appreciate everything. Maybe that will turn out to be the point of today's blog...who knows.
Looking forward to this week, i have lots and lots of work planned, as i have alot of catching up to do. I think i will also try and get out somewhere, and see more of my friends now they are all home. I can't bear to spend too much longer cooped up in my room. Talking of birds...(kind of) take a look at this! http://www.google.com/technology/pigeonrank.html hehe
Thought for the Day: What do you most take for granted? Hmmm...interesting one

On the note of things changing over our lifetimes... just today I was telling Oscar how when I was his age, we didn't have a computer in the house... not until I was 8 or 9, so he should feel lucky.. I think I was testing out my Grandmotherly abilities!
In terms of what do I take for granted? No idea.. probably everything!
I do feel incredibly lucky a lot of the time though.
xx
I think toys have got better...hannahs stuff was far more exciting than i remember mine to be!
I think I have prteviously taken everything for granted...well undervalued it...Don't forget...you will probablty find happiness with the very things that are right under your nose.
App Durham and Newcastle Universities have a kinda Northern 'Boat Race'??
Yes i have heard that too, though it does lack coverage... thank you for all your very insightful comments! Keep them coming!
lol...sure thing!
