A Problem shared...

is a problem halved...we all know that! Well having considered this recently i have discovered several major flaws with this outrageous statement. I mean supposing person A has a problem, and tells person B, then they now have 50% of the original problem. Now supposing person A goes and tells person C, person A is left with 25% of the problem, which is less than person B. This hardly seems a just reward for being person A's best friend. The only way in which person B could decrease his share of the problem would be to tell more people, which would be gossiping!! Wow, what a burden on person B.

The situation complicates further if person A repeatedly tells person B their problem. In which case, person A's proble tends to 0, whereas person Bs increases and tends to 100% of the original problem. Now this is just unfair! Unless of course person B returns the favour by moaning back to person A about their ever increasing problem, in which case if they take in turns to moan, starting with person A...person A is left with 66.6% of the problem and person B gets 33.3%. (thats suprisingly hard to work out, and yes, due to rounding, 0.1% is missing...).

Anyway, that was utterly pointless. I have had a reasonably dull day today. Though i may be going to Durham tomorrow! Yippee!

Thought for the Day: A problem shared is....a problem eased....slightly (subject to conditions)

Hahaha. Not pointless, Tim, funny... and true (mathematical FACT). Now, listen... I have this problem... x
